STAFF EDITOR’S NOTE

             I appreciate the Law Students Society for conceiving the idea of bringing out a quarterly law magazine. No doubt, this marks another mile stone in the history of Department of Law, Aligarh Muslim University Centre, Malappuram. I am quite confident that the magazine, Law Reporter ,will instill a new sense of commitment to the legal profession and a strong sense of seriousness to the course for which we are. I am sure the magazine will be inspiring new imaginations and thoughts about the state of law and societies around us.
            I hope Law Reporter will be call upon the law practitioners-in-becoming at the centre to closely watch what is happening with the state and the society in which we are living in. The observations should instigate the minds giving new insights, which in turn should prompt us to reflect upon the incidents happenings around us critically. The Law Reporter will give us space for articulating our ideas and deliberating our views on anything that may have a legal point.

            Such a commitment from our side will be guaranteed only when we are convinced about the roles that we have to play in the society and internalize the great expectations that the society is having in the budding constitutional guards. Besides, we should be guided by a realization that the success and failure of democracy in any society depends upon the strength and weakness of its strength and weakness of its judicial practices. Being a largest democratic society, India can boast of its judiciary. But this should not throw us to an apprehension that ours is immune to political manipulators and safe from failures. The moment the judiciary fails to deliver its responsibility to be a watchdog of governmental actions, the people will fall prey to different
